The Indian Art Centre is a curated online shopping destination for Indian Art & Antiques. We carefully source our artworks in Europe and the UK (Please view our TIAC Guarantee here) . India is a vast, rich and complex country which civilisation started thousands of years ago. Our goal is to translate this immensity and diversity in offering a wide range of artworks, different in styles, materials, techniques and iconography from ancient times to the present days. We have a specific interest in Hindu iconography and Anglo Indian furniture and works of arts.
Founder and director
Lucie was born and raised in South of France where she obtained a Law degree. She moved to London in 2009 and studied Art History and the Art Market at Christie’s Education for two years. She wrote her thesis on the theme of Orientalism and became more and more interested in the relationship between the East and the West in Art. After working for prestigious galleries (Mallett, Imitate Modern, Gabrielle Laroche…) and auction houses (Bonhams) she decided to launch The Indian Art Centre in 2012.
She was introduced to the Indian culture and Hindu philosophy by her fiancé Dr Aalok Y Shukla and became passionate about the subject. To nourish her knowledge and combine it with her Art expertise she attended many events and courses (including the Modern & Contemporary Indian Art course at Sotheby’s Institute, and Hindu for beginners at SOAS language centre). Lucie is a young entrepreneur that understands the many opportunities offered by online media. She is part of the Antiques Young Guns group and hopes to give a fresh approach to the Indian Art trade, making it more accessible to buyers.
